Bumper Scout post for Linlithgow

THE Linlithgow Scouts Christmas post had a record- breaking 2012 with over 8500 cards delivered.

Scouts from the 4th West Lothian Scout Group delivered sackloads of envelopes to houses all over the EH49 postcode with nearly a 50 per cent increase from 2011.

Paul Charlton, Scout leader, said: “We are absolutely delighted with this achievement and wanted to share the great news with Journal and Gazette readers as they helped make this happen.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who used our service because without you none of this would be possible.

‘‘I would also like to thank the team of sorters and stampers as well as the budding Postman Pats who all played their part.”

This is the fourth year the Scout group has delivered in the town, each year getting bigger, but this increase was the biggest ever seen.

Paul added: “We hope everyone will use the service again in 2013!”

Some cards proved challenging for Scout posties due to incomplete addresses. If Jackie Simmons, Mr and Mrs Orr, or Mrs Nora Muir are missing a Christmas card, contact Paul on 07715 339821.
