A SALTIRE flying at Linlithgow Burgh Halls has attracted complaints as it looked tattered and weather beaten.

The flag caused one passerby to say it was a disgraceful sight to see in the hometown of Alex Salmond, champion of an independent Scotland.

This week, a West Lothian Council spokesperson said: “A replacement flag for the Burgh Halls has been ordered.”
