A MAN has been taken to hospital following a fire at a flat in the Vennel, Linlithgow.

He was taken to St John’s hospital by ambulance with suspected smoke inhalation after fire crews rushed to the second floor flat above M and Co on the High Street yesterday (Thursday) morning.

A fire crew from Central Scotland and a team from Bathgate were quick to extinguish the fire which started around 10.25am in the living room of the flat.

As the Journal and Gazette went to print, a fire investigation team was still in attendance at the flat to establish a cause for the blaze.
