Handball takes to the floor in Linlithgow

IT WAS all hands on deck last week with the Linlithgow Area Primary Schools’ P6 Handball Festival.

Over 200 pupils from eight primary schools took part in an exciting and sporting contest at Linlithgow Academy sports hall and prizes were awarded with points given to the “countries” that the schools are representing in this Olympic year. Active schools co-ordinator Lauren McLean and PE specialist Lesley Malone organised the event with Alan Stokes, handball development officer, and a host of volunteers.

Medals were won and the highest acheivements from local schools were as follows: St Joseph’s - 15 silver; Winchburgh - 20 gold; Linlithgow Bridge Primary - 15 silver; Springfield - 20 gold; Bridgend - 20 gold; Westfield and Torphichen - 15 bronze; Linlithgow Primary - 15 silver and Low Port Primary - 20 gold.
