Important hospital changes in Forth Valley

NEXT Tuesday, July 12, there will be a number of changes to the way Emergency and Minor Injury services are provided across Forth Valley, affecting Bo’ness, Blackness and Whitecross patients.

They’re part of the third and final phase of moves to the new Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert and involve the transfer of a number of important services from Stirling Royal Infirmary.

These include Accident and Emergency services which will transfer from Stirling Royal Infirmary to a new Emergency Department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert at 8am on Tuesday, July 12.

Also moving from Stirling Royal Infirmary are the Maternity Unit (including the labour suite, postnatal ward and neonatal unit), the Women’s Day Care Unit, Women’s Outpatient Clinics and Investigation (including obstetrics, colposcopy and scanning), Gynaecology Services and Children’s Services (inpatient ward and paediatric clinics). Cardiology services, medical and surgical wards, intensive care and high dependency services will also transfer across between July 11 and 18.

Minor Injury and GP out-of-hours services for the Falkirk area, which are currently based at Falkirk Community Hospital, will also transfer to Forth Valley Royal Hospital next Tuesday, July 12.

A wide range of services will continue to be delivered locally at the four community hospitals in Stirling, Falkirk, Bo’ness and Clackmannanshire.
