Linlithgow Scouts launch their Christmas post scheme
SCOUTS in Linlithgow launched their Christmas post scheme this week.
Scout Post has been running in the Edinburgh area for around 25 years but never in the Linlithgow area. The scheme now offers residents within the EH49 postcode area the chance to have their Christmas cards hand-delivered within the same area for just 20p.
Paul Charlton, Scout leader for Linlithgow Bridge-based 4th West Lothian, said: "We decided to organise a Scout Post for Linlithgow as a way of spreading the good word of Scouting around town as well as generating much needed money for funds."
He added: "The idea came about as a result of a recent activity we undertook, to deliver Linlithgow Events Guide leaflets for the council.
A Scout Post seemed a natural extension."
As from Tuesday, December 1, the public will be able to drop their Christmas cards off at nominated collection points around town for just 20p per card.
The EH49 postal area covers Linlithgow, Blackness, Three-miletown, Philpstoun, Bridgend, , and Whitecross. Deliveries take place over two weekends, with the final day for posting on Tuesday, December 15.
Collections points in Linlithgow are Tesco, Sainsbury's, Blast Off Books, the Gazette Office, and the two Spars.
