More shops and homes in future vision for Bo’ness

A NEW supermarket in Bo’ness town centre and a new Whitecross primary school are within a preferred development vision for the Falkirk Council area.

The public and stakeholders can soon have their say on key matters like housing growth, land for jobs, climate change and transport infrastructure.

A major consultation exercise will run from November 18 until February 10, 2012 with event details currently being finalised.

‘Reasonable alternatives’ to the local authority’s vision, approved by the full council on a vote last Wednesday, are also presented for comment.

It is a precursor to the council preparing a 20 year Local Development Plan, in line with new legal requirements, likely to cover 2014-34, with detailed ideas for the first decade, and broad guidance for the next.
