Police and celebrities fundraise for CHAS

CENTRAL Scotland Police officers and staff joined forces with a host of famous faces on the golf course to raise £9000 for CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland).

The sum is the largest-ever made over the ten years the event's been held, with money coming via entry fees, a raffle and an auction.

Celebrities taking part in Alloa this year included Alan Hanson, Neil McCann, Mark Hateley, Billy Dodds, Pat Nevin, Des McKeown, Alan Rough, Ewan Cameron, Rob McLean, Jimmy Nicol, Willie Young, Scott Hastings and Tony Roper.

Central Scotland Chief Constable Kevin Smith handed over the cheque with event organiser, police staff member Andrew Mathieson, and Assistant Chief Constable Gordon Samson, to CHAS' Allsion Rennie last week at force HQ in Stirling.
