Triple delight for Linlithgow farmer

THREE proved to be the magic number for a farmer a fortnight ago after one of his heifer's gave birth to a trio of calves.

Alex Kennedy (60) of Grougfoot Farm, near Linlithgow, was shocked but pleasantly surprised when he saw the six-year-old heifer give birth to not one, not two, but three cute and healthy young cows.

The odds of cattle having triplets are somewhere in the region of one in every 75,000 births and Alex was overwhelmed that it had happened on his farm.
