Council say over 12,000 people call the wrong number

The council is asking local people who call the Customer Services Centre to contact them on 01506 280000.

The council’s main telephone number changed to 01506 280000 in 2013, however every month around 12,000 local people call the old number. However, time is fast running out for the old number which will not be available from July 2014.

A spokesperson for West Lothian Council commented: “There are lots of ways people can contact the council and access information about services. For example, it is possible to carry out a range of tasks on the website, such as reporting issues, requesting repairs and paying for council services. It is also possible to email enquiries to: customer.service@westlothian.gov.uk.

“We know that the Customer Services Centre is also a convenient way for residents to contact us. To ensure that everyone gets through it is vital that they now use the 01506 280000 telephone number.”

A handy list of useful contact numbers is also printed in the council’s newspaper Bulletin.
