This Queensferry girl is going to prove very popular over the coming months. For little Abbey Horrocks’ photograph will greet thousands of cruise ship visitors to Queensferry as they walk up the Hawes Pier to their coaches.

The youngster’s image decorates a former city council kiosk at the pier. The kiosk is now utilised as a base for the Forth Cruise volunteers group which meet and greet passengers from cruise liners with the aim to direct them towards Queensferry’s attractions.

as opposed to the city or further afield.

Diane Brown, project manager for Queensferry Ambition said: ‘‘The city council gifted us the kiosk and we have revamped it to provide a place where the volunteers can meet and distribute Queensferry visitor guides to cruise passengers throughout the season.’’

More than 10,000 promotional leaflets have been distributed to passengers, hotels and bars in the town as well as the Contact and Education Centre.
