Bo’ness Children’s Theatre group had a right old time getting dolled up at their recent costume night.

This was a full costume rehearsal for the group’s 14th annual production, being held over five nights, January 21-25, at Bo’ness Town Hall.

Nan McDonald, along with her husband Bill set up the Bo’ness Childrens’ Theatre group in 2000 after having retired from the LAMP children’s group at Linlithgow in 1999.

Nan said: “Itchy feet soon set in and before long Bill and I found ourselves right back in the midst of it again.

“We have been involved in theatre for 57 years and, despite retiring more than once, we never settle - I think being round children keeps you young, we never think about our age or the amount of work we do.”

This year’s panto, ‘‘Jack and the Beanstalk’’ is a first for the group and throws up many challenges including the inevitable one of building a beanstalk.

The group has incorporated its trademark UV scene once more, which is always a big hit with audiences.

Nan added: “We have a good team of helpers because the group could never run with just Bill and myself at the helm. We have a great admin team as well as the all-important set builders.’’

Tickets for this hotly tipped event are available online at nan.mcdonald@btinternet.com or by telephoning: 01324 712443.

Alternatively customers can buy directly from S & S Shoes in Bo’ness.
