Free festive season parking in Falkirk

If you still have some Christmas shopping to do or are looking to hit the sales after the big day, you can take advantage of free car parking in Falkirk town centre over the festive period.

Until January 6, 2014, parking charges have been suspended across all of Falkirk Council’s pay and display car parks.

It is hoped that the suspension of parking charges will encourage people to shop locally and provide a boost for town centre retailers at what should be their busiest time of year.

Free parking is permitted for four hours in the short stay car parks at: Melville Street, Weir Street and Williamson Street.

There are no time restrictions on the long stay car parks at Kemper Avenue, Garrison Place (east and west) and Meeks Road.

All other car park rules apply – for example, a blue badge must be displayed if parking in a disabled bay and vehicles must be properly parked within a designated space.

Charges will still apply for on-street parking.
