Pupils at Winchburgh Primary School donned wellies and fluorescent vests for a tour of nearby Miller Homes’ Glendevon Gate development.
The primary three pupils received an insight into the building trade during a tour of the site.
In addition to seeing new homes being completed, they watched a bricklayer in action and got the opportunity to lay some bricks. Before the tour the children received a health and safety talk, highlighting the importance of staying safe on building sites. Headteacher Frances Rosevear said: “This was a great opportunity for our children to learn more about the construction industry, the possible dangers of a building site and what is involved in building a new home, which ties in with their houses and homes project.
In particular the children enjoyed learning more about traditional trades as well as having the opportunity to try bricklaying.”
