Queensferry residents have been invited to attend a public meeting on proposals for future housing at Ferrymuir.

Bellway Homes is to stage a consultation meeting at Queensferry High School on Wednesday, August 13, from 4-8pm, giving local people the opportunity to view proposals for up to 152 properties and a community facility on vacant land next to the Dakota Hotel.

Craig Main, of EMA Architecture and Design, said: ‘‘The site already has planning for housing but we want to meet with the community to ascertain what they would prefer.’’

Diane Job, planning convenor for Queensferry and District Community Council, said: ‘‘We hope that as many residents as possible attend this event and have their say.’’

Councillor Norman Work added: ‘‘This is part of the pre-application process where the developers consult with the community before going to the next stage.

“The good thing is a community facility is promised but there is very little detail at the moment as we, the community, do not know exactly what type of facility we want.”
