Linlithgow’s Victoria Halls may be about to rise from the ashes as owner G and L Properties has put it up for sale again and is hopeful a buyer can be found sooner rather than later.

The semi-derelict building that blights Linlithgow High Street could be returned to its former glory if the right
purchaser can be found.

John Cortellessa, spokesman for the owners said: “I still believe that the property has a part to play in revitalising Linlithgow town centre and I hope that the right developer will come along to move things forward.”

Previously we have reported on a breakdown in communications between the local Victoria Halls Trust, a group set up to try and develop
the building and Mr Cortellessa, however this appears to have now been resolved.

David Tait, spokesman for the Trust said: “We still hope to be able to pull together a good solid viable set of plans for the redevelopment of this historic building and, as a first step, have now instructed EKJN architects to carry out a feasibility study and options appraisal.

“We would then expect that report to be a first step for us in seeking financing to move our proposals forward.”

Jon Newey of EKJN architects confirmed they were still involved in the plans adding: “We are delighted the project is starting to gain momentum once again.

“We have been commissioned to undertake a feasibility assessment which should then assist the Trust in
moving ahead with proposals.”
