The Hippodrome in Bo’ness will mark World Autism Day next month with two special screenings.
The autism-friendly showings of Muppets Most Wanted will be screened on Sunday, April 6, at 2.30pm and Saturday, April 12, also at 2.30pm.
Autism-friendly cinema films offer reduced sound levels and higher lighting levels. They are also advert and trailer free and provide a more relaxed cinema environment.
Claire Lockwood has been going to autism-friendly screenings for the last two years with her daughter Jodie.
She said: “When I first went I couldn’t believe how relaxed the atmosphere was.
“Jodie jumps up and down in her seat and laughs when she’s excited so it’s great that we don’t have to discourage her.
“She really loves it and it’s good to find something she enjoys. Because she’s had good experiences she knows what to expect when we say cinema.”
