For most people, turning 60 is a time to relax, take life at an easier pace, chill out and put their feet up.
Not so for Lorna Johnston who will be bus-hopping across West Lothian in a sponsored event for Arthritis Care.
Lorna, who has suffered from osteoarthritis since 2000, said that the disease has now progressed into both her knees, her feet, fingers and spine.
An active member of the Forth Bridges Accordion Band and founder of Quill writers group, Lorna has had to make the heartbreaking decision to cut back on her commitments due to the pain which her disease causes on a daily basis.
As a way in which to give something back to Arthritis Care, which has been supporting Lorna, she has decided to have a birthday bash with a difference.
On Wednesday, June 11, she will be embarking on a sponsored bus travel event. This will see Lorna attempt to use as many local bus services as possible with her new bus pass from 9am to 4pm.
