Election frenzy hit Linlithgow Academy with almost record-breaking numbers voting for their preferred prefects.
The top names out of the ballot box and after a final interview were head girl Sarah Macdonald and head boy Neil Anderson.
Head teacher David MacKenzie said: “The popularity of nominees and the way they carried themselves at interview was of the highest calibre.’’
‘‘So, it wasn’t an easy appointment. The head pupis will have responsibility for 50 prefects and, this year in particular, they will be relied upon to liaise with and advise the new head teacher.
‘‘The head boy and girl and their deputies have five years of experience in the school which is invaluable to new teachers.
‘‘I’m confidenet that this year’s appointees will prove to be excellent role models for our younger students.”
