The UK’s number one young adults author, Robert Muchamore publishes his latest book, ‘Rock War’, which launches in London on February 27.
To coincide with the launch, a competition was set up by the publishers to find a budding rock band to perform on the big day.
And, local Bo’ness girl Anna Cooper (14), along with her newly-formed band, The Monochromes, have made it through to the final six.
It’s a huge achievement for her, but all the more so since the band is barely three months old.
Anna, who is the lead vocalist in the band, along with the other band members, all met in Edinburgh at St. Mary’s Music School where they studied classical music and during the summer formed the group The Monochromes.
The band have been shortlisted in the competition’s nationwide search.
Young adults aged between 13–21 years have been battling it out for the chance to win the once-in-a-lifetime gig, playing at the publishers’ book launch event in London.
The competition, run on the book’s Facebook pages, required groups to post a video of themselves performing. And now, with the final six chosen, it will be down to the author’s fans to decide on the winner.
Anna and her group, the only Scottish entry in the competition, now urgently need our readers’ support. Votes can be cast at: www.facebook.com/rockwarbooks
The entry with the highest number of ‘likes’ by 5pm on Friday, January 3, wins the unique opportunity to travel to London and play at the Rock War launch gig in front of author Muchamore himself.
