A Linlithgow woman who has devoted her life to the Girl Guide movement has been honoured in the Queen’s New Year Honours list.
Elizabeth Findlater has given more than 50 years service to the movement in a variety of high-profile roles.
She lives in Deanburn Park, Linlithgow.
Also honoured is May Millward of Philpstoun, a retired civil servant who specialised in human resources and is also an activist for Diabetes UK.
The third honour coming West Lothian’s way was bestowed upon Councillor Jim Walker.
Provost Tom Kerr of West Lothian Council applauded the awards saying: “I would like to pass on my congratulations to all those named in the Queen’s New Year Honours list – but particularly to those from West Lothian.
“Mrs Millard, Mrs Findlater and Councillor Walker richly deserve their accolades and on behalf of West Lothian Council I’d like to congratulate and thank them for their contribution to the West Lothian community.”
