A sports club which has been in existence for more than 30 years in Linlithgow has voiced concerns over problems with the roof of its club house.
Linlithgow Sports Club, which has three separate sections – Bellsburn Bowling Club, Linlithgow Tennis Club and Linlithgow Squash Club – has realised that the life of the 32-year old flat roof has come to an end and it needs replaced.
The club has produced some world class athletes in bowler Gary Clelland, Andy Murray’s tennis doubles team-mate Colin Fleming and squash player Ashley Mears .
It is hoped that a planned fundraising drive will be successful, allowing the club to continue providing top-class facilities for up-and-coming athletes.
The first planned event takes place on Friday, May 23, when a folk music evening in Queen Margaret Hall, with several local bands and singers, kicks off the replacement roof fundraising drive.
Tickets for the licensed music night, priced £6, are available by calling the club on 01506 847480 or 07914 166285.
