Top Scots bands Deacon Blue and Simple Minds will be the headline acts for this summer’s Party at the Palace in Linlithgow.
Deacon Blue, whose hits include ‘‘Wages Day’’, ‘‘Dignity’’ and ‘‘Fergus Sings the Blues’’ were confirmed last week.
And it is believed Simple Minds will take centre stage on the Sunday night.
The bands will headline the two-day festival at Linlithgow Peel on Saturday and Sunday, August 9 and 10 before a capacity audience of 7500 each day.
As the Journal and Gazette went to press yesterday (Thursday) the festival promoters had unveiled a numbers of bands set to play including Hue and Cry, Attic Lights, The Silencers, The Bluebells and Horse McDonald.
The concerts will start each day at 2pm and continue through to 10pm.
Festival promoter John Richardson said: ‘‘We still have a few acts to announce and will continue to release them daily up until the public sale on Tuesday.’’
Tickets prices are £95 for a two-day ticket, £52 for single day, children 12 and under £20, with under 3s free. They will be available to the local community from Tuesday, May 6, from 9.30am at the Burgh Halls and go online from Wednesday, May 7, through Ticket Soup and Loop Connections.
