Police Scotland have issued an appeal for assistance in locating two males who racially abused shop staff at the Four in One takeaway on Jamieson Avenue.
During the evening of February 18, two adult males were noted to be loitering ouyside the fast food premises. What started as abusive behaviour rapidly turned to racial abuse and vandalism.
Staff were subjected to a tirade of foul and abusive language by both males, who, after being told to move on, smashed the rear windscreen of a vehicle parked outside the shop and a plate glass window, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.
One male is described as being aged mid 20’s, approximately 6ft in height with dark hair and of a stocky build wearing a white t-shirt and black tracky style bottoms.
The police are appealing for a specific witness to come forward. At the time of the incident a male customer was in the takeaway but has yet to come forward and speak with police officers.
Anyone with information on the incident, the males involved or the witness are asked to call police on 101 and ask for the reporting officer PC David Butterfield.
