Investigations are continuing into the unexplained death of a 34-year-old woman in Bo’ness on Saturday morning.

After Vicki McDermott’s body was discovered, police carried out a search at a house in Marchlands Avenue and recovered drugs valued at £13,000. Gordon Peter Jackson (33) was arrested in connection with the recovery of the drugs – ecstasy tablets, cocaine, mephedrone, cannabis resin and diazepam.

He appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Monday.

Jackson made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody to appear again on March 18.

A Bo’ness dad, who contacted the Journal after hearing of this latest tragedy, said more needs to be done to stamp out the drugs epidemic which “is ruining lives and communities” like Bo’ness.

The man, who asked not to be named, added: “As a parent, it is soul destroying to watch the children you brought into the world being sucked into this life.

“You try anything to help your loved ones but the reality is that they need to want that help and that help needs to be from professionals.”
