Linlithgow and East Falkirk MP Michael Connarty experienced what is involved in delivering the post when he joined local postwoman Gillian MacKay on her delivery round in Linlithgow.
Mr Connarty is one of a number of local MPs and MSPs who were invited to go out with postmen and women to see how Royal Mail delivers your post.
The purpose of the visits is to give MPs and MSPs a unique insight into the challenges of delivering mail to every house and business in their constituency, six days a week, and how the service is now adapting to a more modern approach to mail deliveries.
Mr Connarty said: “Postmen and women perform an incredibly important function in our communities.”
“Having joined my local posties on their Christmas deliveries in the days before the impact of on-line shopping and the growth of parcel deliveries, I was very keen to experience first-hand the modern daily delivery service.
“There was no better way than joining Gillian MacKay who has been delivering mail to customers in Linlithgow for more than 24 years.”
