A kart theft has prompted Bo’ness resident, George McBlain to offer a reward for information relating to it’s safe return.
The single-seat, six horsepower black and yellow racing kart was bought for George’s grandson, Jayme, and had been stored in a council-owned garage at Muirhouses when not being used.
The childrens go-kart, which was bought for £1100, was stolen between midnight and 1am on July 13 in the break-in.
George said: “We can be very specific about the time of the theft because a neighbour heard what he thought was a wheelie bin trundling around.
“This was obviously when they were moving the trailer it sat on.
“Then early next morning another neighbour who also has a garage alerted us to the fact that some of the other material we had in the lock-up, old paint tins and tools were all lying outside on the ground. He thought it odd because there was no-one there and it was only when we were contacted we realised there might well be a problem.”
The theft has been reported to the police, and a reward is being offered by the family for any information which might help in the recovery.
Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 or George directly on 01506 823607.
