An unfortunate seal pup is being cared for by the Scottish SPCA after he was discovered trapped in fishing line in Bo’ness.
Scotland’s animal welfare charity rescued the seal pup from a boatyard near Grangepans Industrial Estate where he had become trapped.
The pup is now being cared for at the Scottish SPCA’s National Wildlife Rescue Centre in Clackmannanshire where he’s been affectionately named Trawler by staff.
Centre manager Colin Seddon said, “Trawler came in to us on Monday having been found tangled in fishing line.
“Thankfully the line had not dug into his flesh and was quite easily cut off, however the pup was very weak and had obviously been struggling for some time. If Trawler had not been rescued he would either have starved to death from not being able to feed.’’
