St Josephs Primary School, Linlithgow, wins Euroquiz Challenge heat

Pupils from St Joseph’s Primary School, Linlithgow, were excited to pick up the accolade of West Lothian Euroquiz Challenge 2014 heat winners.

They have also now secured a place at the Scottish final on May 12 at the Scottish Parliament.

The 2014 quiz was as
challenging as ever and the pupils and teachers from all 18 participating schools
were commended for their hard work and knowledge on topics, ranging from geography, languages and the European Union, through to history, sport and culture.

Executive councillor for culture and leisure, Dave King, presented the prizes.

He said: “All of the teams who took part in West Lothian’s Euroquiz Challenge heat did exceedingly well, including the two small teams of reserves who got together to take part for fun.

“I would particularly like to congratulate the winners from St Joseph’s Primary School.

“I’d like to wish them every success in the final.”

The popular challenge is organised nationally by the Scottish European Educational Trust.
