The Scottish Independence Referendum takes place in two months’ time and the debate continues at a talk the Scottish Socialist Party has organised throughout Scotland in the run-up to the vote.

Former Labour MP Jim Sillars will join SSP members Colin Fox MSP and Sandra Webster for the event at Trinity Church, Kirk Wynd, Falkirk, at 7pm on Monday, July 21.

Mr Sillars said: “I intend to make clear that support for Yes does not just include SNP
people.

‘‘It also includes SSP supporters and Greens, and perhaps most crucially, many Labour voters too.

‘‘As a Labour MP for 25 years, I urge everyone who wants to see Labour’s historic social democratic values advanced to join me in voting Yes on September 18.”

Mr Sillars was married to the late Margo Macdonald MSP who was a lifelong independence campaigner.

Journal and Gazette readers will have their own chance to put questions to the three speakers on the night
