Linlithgow Leisure centre may soon be the recipients of a brand new full-size, third generation synthetic turf pitch, if all goes to plan.
West Lothian Council has approved the submission of a Cashback for Communities funding application for £300,000 toward the cost of the pitch.
The council also approved the allocation of £200,000 within the Open Space Capital programme towards the cost of the project.
The overall cost of the exciting project has been costed at £650,000 and the council is now looking at other avenues of funding to meet the balance.
Executive councillor for culture and leisure, Dave King said: “A new third generation synthetic turf pitch would be a great asset.
“At present there is no such facility within Linlithgow.”
