A major eyesore overlooking the Forth at Queensferry is set to be transformed within months.

The former Two Bridges bar and restaurant, which closed for business 15 months ago, has lain empty since then.

But work is now under way to give the premises a new image and name – The 3 Bridges.

The new venture, due to open this spring, is from the same people behind Louie Brown’s in Dalgety Bay.

A spokesman for the company said: ‘‘In terms of the look and feel, a visit to Louie Brown’s will give you an idea of our style. We are delighted with the success of Louie Brown’s and will build on that at The 3 Bridges.

“Our focus is on creating a bar with a vibrant atmosphere that serves great food. There will also be a large outdoor area for all our customers to enjoy.’’

Diane Brown, project manager at Queensferry Ambition, whose aim is to promote and boost business in the town, welcomed the news saying: ‘‘It’s good news for Queensferry the building which has been an eyesore is set to re-open as the 3 Bridges.’’
