Beach clean up at Queensferry

The foreshore near Queensferry was the focal point for a Marine Conservation Society (MCS) beach clean up.

A total of 100 kilos of rubbish was picked up from Hound Point beach area, close to Hopetoun House.

The event also saw employees of Marks and Spencers at The Gyle take part in the event.

Matt Barnes, MCS Sea Champions co-ordinator Scotland said: ‘‘Litter pickers collected everything from wrappers, tin cans and pieces of rope to more unusual objects such as tyres, children’s toys and a hard hat. I want to thank you to all those that gave up their time and effort to help clean the beaches.’’
