The top-rated Terraces restaurant at West Lothian College has re-launched to give diners a taste of the future of the food industry.

The Terrace restaurant at West Lothian College, Livingston, is opening its doors following a renovation. It is the highest placed restaurant in West Lothian on the Trip Advisor user review website, with 98% of reviewers recommending it as excellent or very good.

Jeff Bland, Executive Chef of Number One Restaurant at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh and holder of a coveted Michelin Star, was specially invited along to cut the cake and officially re-opened the fine dining training restaurant.

The refurbished Terrace serves as both a top quality dining experience for customers and an invaluable training opportunity for Cookery and Hospitality students studying at the college.

Over 100 invited guests were treated to a champagne reception whilst Hospitality students served up canapés that they had prepared themselves. Students from the Professional Cookery courses also conducted a range of demonstrations giving guests a taste of what to expect when dining at the Terrace Restaurant, as well as showcasing their skills.

Jeff Bland, who was crowned Chef of the Year at the Scottish Restaurant Awards 2012, added: “I’m delighted to officially re-launch the Terrace restaurant at West Lothian College, and wish the restaurant and students every success for the future.
