a LORRY carrying a highly flammable load sparked a full scale emergency response on Wednesday night.
The police and fire brigade rushed to Riccarton Road in Linlithgow after the lorry went off the road and ended up hanging down the embankment at around 8pm.
A police spokesperson said: “The driver managed to get out the vehicle safely, but the load was highly flammable, hence the full on emergency response. The road was closed around 8.30pm, and the carriageway was clear by about 10pm. Once the lorry was back on the roadway it was drivable and left the scene under its own steam so to speak.”
There were no other vehicles involved.
