PUPILS at Kirkliston Primary created a whole lot of drama last month with Edinburgh’s Royal Lyceum Theatre.
The theatre company visited primary six and seven classes to explore the fun of Shakespeare in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Looking at the language and using costumes from the time, ‘Project Dream’ was a great success for pupils, some of whom had never understood Shakespeare before. The company worked at putting the play into modern day language and using expressions the pupils would understand, before taking them to see a production of the play on stage. One P6 pupil said: “The expressions were fascinating and the atmosphere was electric.”
