ANGLERS celebrating the start of the new season on Linlithgow Loch on Thursday, March 15, also paid tribute to the late Andrew Dougall.
A familiar face to anglers on the loch, ‘‘Bushy’’ as he was known was a founder member of both the West Port and Bridge Inn fly fishing clubs.
And on Thursday his family were in attendance when a memorial bench to Andrew, who was 50 when he died in 2008, was unveiled.
His younger brother, Alasdair, said: ‘‘Andrew loved the loch and his fishing and would have been so proud to have been remembered in this way.’’
The anglers’ federation FASA has approved the memorial bench and its siting.
The bench was constructed by Beecraigs Sawmill. Pictured with opening day anglers are Elaine Dougall, Andrew’s partner, Janet Calder and Janet and Malcolm Dougall.
