FRIDAY, February 3, marked the 60 year milestone since three sailing clubs in Grangepans bay decided to chart new waters and merge into what would become the modern-day Upper Forth Boat Club (UFBC).

Its active summer sailing calendar now includes competing for trophies, some of which originally came from the Upper Forth Sailing, and Bo’ness Motor Cruising, Clubs.

An elegant silver cup presented to the third of the founding trio, Bridgeness Yacht Club, in 1907, is now displayed at Kinneil Museum and is the earliest known record of any of the clubs.
