MEMBERS of the public are to get the opportunity to meet with those responsible for building the new Forth Crossing.
A “Meet the Contractor” event will be staged in Orocco Pier on Tuesday, September 13, where local residents can discuss the works with the representatives from the three main contractors. There will also be another such event in the Queensferry Hotel, North Queensferry, the day after.
Following the successful completion of a two year procurement process the three main contracts to build the Forth Replacement Crossing have now been awarded.
The principal contract to build the new bridge and connecting road elements was awarded to Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors (FCBC); the contract to deliver the Forth Replacement Crossing’s Intelligent Transport System was awarded to John Graham (Dromore) Ltd; and the contract to upgrade the M9 at Junction 1a was awarded to John Sisk and Roadbridge.
As construction will soon commence on the project, Transport Scotland wants to introduce the local communities to the organisations that will be delivering the Forth Replacement Crossing project.
These will be public events and will take the format of an afternoon drop in session that will allow visitors to speak directly to the contractors, followed by an evening presentation and question and answer session.
The times for both events are 1pm to 6pm (public exhibition) and 7pm to 8.30pm (presentation followed by question and answer).
