New face in court This week in 1944

NEW MAGISTRATE: Baillie R. M. Hislop, recently appointed to the Magistracy, was formally introduced to the bench at Linlithgow Police Court.

CHURCH LINKS: At a meeting held after the service at Pardovan Church, a committee was elected to deal with the arrangements for amalgamation with Kingscavil Church.

RABBIT, RABBIT: There was a larger entry than ever at the Scottish Central Fur Club rabbit show held in the OAP’s hall, Linlithgow, on Saturday.

PLOUGH in CASH: After payment of all expenses and prize money in connection with the ploughing match at Overton Farm, Kirkliston, the committee donated £110 to the Scottish Agricultural Committee Red Cross fund.

MANAGER’s DEATH: The death had occurred suddenly of Mr Robert Wylie at his residence in Borrwstoun that Tuesday evening. Mr Wylie succeeded his brother, Andrew, as manager of Bo’ness FC some years previous. Mr Wylie had suffered ill health for some time.
