Pupils at Torphichen and Westfield primary schools have been given a new headteacher days before breaking up for the summer holidays.
Mary McKenzie will take charge of both schools following a 14 year career in teaching.
She said: “I’m very lucky, as teaching is a job that I thoroughly enjoy. I have had great encouragement and support throughout my career from my family and colleagues.
“I’m excited about my new role and I intend to build on the previous good practice established in both schools, I also have new ideas that I would like to take forward within the school and in partnership with the children, parents and the staff.”
Lawrence Fitzpatrick, executive councillor for education, said: “Mrs McKenzie has a sound track record and I’m confident that Torphichen and Westfield primary schools are in good hands.’’
