PUPILS at Linlithgow Primary will be able to plant up in the spring after Scottish Water workers created the perfect vegetable beds.

The school’s Grounds for Excellence programme works with volunteer parents to create better school surroundings such as painting designs on the playground and school railings.

Parent Robert Stewart works for Scottish Water and as part of their volunteer programme rounded up a squad to get involved in creating flower beds for the school.

He said: “I’d been involved with Grounds for Excellence as I’m one of the parents, and when we asked the Scottish Water employees to help out, we got a great response. We put in six raised vegetable beds for kids and filled them for planting next year. They were really pleased.”
