Gazette reader and amateur photographer, Ray Clark of Dunfermline recently contacted us to see if we could shed any light on an image he had captured recently.

Ray had been visiting South Queensferry with his son to try out some filters on his lenses, and was returning back to his car along the high street, when he though the old street lamps near to the Ferry Tap pub looked fairly atmospheric.

He took three images, and the smoker standing outside the pub door can be seen in all of them, however, an apparition which ray swears wasn’t there shows up on one single image.

Looking to the right hand side of the smoker in the white top, an illuminated figure of some sort is evident.

The Ferry Tap was traditionally an ale-house for the Forth’s ferrymen, believed to date back to the 16th century, and some believe is the subject of paranormal phenomena in and around the immediate area.

What do you think - has Ray captured something not of this world?
