The Gillespie Macandrew
Hopetoun Horse Trials offer an opportunity to see some of the world’s top event riders competing in a unique setting.

Sir Mark Todd, recognised as the leading event rider of all time is making his first trip to Hopetoun at the end of this month (June 26-28)

The New Zealander has won five Olympic medals including two golds. He has also won Badminton four times and Burghley five times.

Another former Olympian in the line up is Nicola Wilson, a member of the UK London 2012 silver medal-winning team.

She was the winner of
Hopetoun’s prestigious 3 Star competition last year with her Olympic ride Opposition Buzz.

Spectators can’t fail to be excited by watching these top riders tackling the challenging cross-country jumps at speed around the Deer Park at Hopetoun House.

But the weekend is not all about horses! There is an action-packed programme of arena entertainment and a plenty of canine capers for the family to enjoy.

Last year’s doggy detail has been extended to include a fun dog show on both Saturday and Sunday.

So if the dog is your favourite four-legged friend, why
not line up for the waggiest tail or maybe the cutest face class.

There is also Have-a-Go agility and flyball demonstrations.

On the Saturday, there is the Shetland Pony Grand
National on the West
Lawn.

For younger ones there is Baxterbear’s Teddy Bear’s picnic, magician Tricky Ricky and Mr Puffin, the
balloon man.

The dedicated children’s zone has its own giant slide and bouncy castle.

Tom Murray, chairman of Gillespie Macandrew, title sponsors for the fifth cons-ecutive year, said: “Hopetoun offers an unrivalled venue for an event that really has something for everyone.

‘We are delighted to
continue our support of
one of the very best equestrian
experiences in the
country.”
