LINLITHGOW Academy pupils rose to the challenge of designing a new sauce for Pasta King (UK)’s new “Spice Connections” range.

The second year pupils carried out a range of research including investigating traditional dishes from around the world, spices, rice, healthy eating for teenagers and the nutritional requirements for school meals.

They carried out market research to help them design exciting and innovative dishes to impress the tasting panel and Pasta King’s management team.

The pupils were interviewed by three sets of judges at a trade show for the finalists.

The winners were: Research/display teamwork - Neil Anderson, Kate Holligan, Mark Lee and Thomas Tate; Health and nutrition - Amanda Webb, Katryna McLeod, Sophie Davis and Aimee Harris; Suitability for Pasta King - Euan Mochrie, Jamie Mason, Callum Stewart and Jon Fraser; Product and overall winners - Emily Lockey, Erin McDonald, Katriona Ramsay, Samantha Fulton and Emma Barnes.
