tragedy struck the village of Kirkliston last weekend when a man was killed after falling into a bus.
Ross Henderson (36) of Liston Road was on Path Brae at 3pm on Saturday where it is thought he tripped and fell into the window of a stationary bus, before cracking his head on the roadway.
He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he later died from his injuries. No-one else was injured.
This week, bouquets of flowers and hand-written messages of condolence were left near where the accident happened.
One note read: “Dear Ross, such a tragic loss. You will be sorely missed by us all. We promise to support the twins and your mum and dad and hopefully in time rebuild a broken family. Sleep tight young man, Uncle Tosh, Auntie Doreen, Keiran, Gareth.”
Kirkliston councillor Norman Work added: “My condolences go out to the family of Ross Henderson. I know Kirkliston residents were stunned and saddened to hear about the tragic accident and I know the whole community will give comfort and support to the family.”
The family did not wish to make any comment.
Police are investigating and are keen to speak to passengers who were on the bus when the incident happened.
