THIS happy image from the 1970s shows Allan Bell donating a new darts trophy to the Bo’ness ladies team which was based at the Royal British Legion in Newtown.
Allan was himself a top level darts player in the local scene.
He turned out for the Royal British Legion and also the Edinburgh bus company where he worked, winning the Edinburgh singles title.
Allan (57) now lives in Wigan, and dad John Bell handed in the photo.
He believes the new trophy went on to be contested for by all the ladies’ teams in Bo’ness.
The shot was captured at the time by the Journal and Gazette photographer.
