THE Bo’ness Pipe Band Championships have drummed up a major event sponsor ahead of their inaugural showcase in June.
Generous local firm Caledonian Produce has marched forward with up to £10,000, meaning spectator entry will be free, making it seemingly unique on the professional circuit.
A crowd of at least 1000 could gather at Kinneil Estate on June 9 to watch up to 15 bands from across Scotland.
With a Highland dance contest featuring 100-150 soloists and the chance for budding musicians to get tips and have a go at chanters and drum pads, organisers are confident it will be well worth beating a path to.
