Police hunt jewel thief after break-in

JEWELLERY and a three figure sum of cash was stolen from a home in Priory Road last Tuesday.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to the theft which took place between 8.45am and 3.40pm after the burglar forced their way in.

A man was seen in the rear garden around 9.30am on Tuesday who the witness believed was a workman. He is described as white, 30-40 years old, 5ft8” - 5ft10”, slim build, bald with short greying hair around sides, and wearing a black top with ‘Lonsdale’ in white writing on the front, blue jeans and possibly white trainers.
