A Grangemouth shop under new ownership has been given permission to serve alcohol until 10pm and start home deliveries.

Newhouse Mini Market, formerly W&S Frew, at 106 Newhouse Road, Grangemouth, can now sell alcohol from 10am until 10pm every day, after increasing the shop’s opening hours.

Solicitor Gordon Emslie told members of Falkirk Council’s licensing board that the long-established shop had been a very successful newsagents but the owner now wanted to make it more of a general convenience store.

The shop also successfully applied for permission to deliver food and alcohol through the Snappy Shopper app.

Mr Emslie told the board that the previous hours had been in place for many years and the change was simply a case of modernising this.

The new owner, Mr Tajinder Pal Singh, also owns a convenience store in Shieldhill and has used Snappy Shopper to make deliveries since 2020 without any issues.

Mr Emslie added that there will be more changes in the future as the owner is currently applying for planning permission to make more internal alterations.

All of the changes were granted as applied for.
